Elazığ Medical Hospital Pediatric Surgery Department; Diagnosis and treatment services are provided for our pediatric patients.
Pediatric surgery is a branch of science that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of prenatal anomalies, as well as diseases acquired in childhood and many different conditions that develop due to trauma. Since people will carry the consequences of surgical intervention in childhood with them for a lifetime, they are extremely sensitive about working in a way that does not harm their development, taking their physiology and psychology into consideration. Pediatric patients have low resistance to infections because their immune systems are not yet developed. In childhood patients, unlike adults, cell division occurs to achieve physical and mental growth rather than for reproductive purposes. Since rapid cell division shortens the recovery time compared to adult and elderly patients, children, called infants, are much more resistant to physical trauma. In addition, the psychology of child patients is also important for this branch of science. During the procedures, it is aimed to protect the mental health of children and to ensure that they have a comfortable and painless operation period.
